The benefits we derive from connection with the natural world are numerous and are vital to our optimum health. It is proven that we all feel more peaceful walking where there are trees and that people who spend more time outdoors around trees have been shown to be healthier. The concept that humans have an important biological need to connect with nature is known as biophilia, from the Greek meaning ‘love of life and the living world’ Our health improves when we are in contact with the natural world.

I have been working in nature connection and biodiversity education for many years, delivering outdoor educational sessions and events relating to our natural environment, with a particular knowledge, love and experience in relation to our native Irish trees. I have delivered my native Irish tree sessions for Irish Biodiversity Week, Irish Heritage Week, Cruinniu na nOg as well as working with local libraries and schools. I also run Forest School sessions for children throughout the year from the wonderful sites I am grateful to be able to work from.

Visit our Sessions & Bookings page for what’s happening and the Gallery for photos. Link for Heritage in Schools bookings here

I love spending time with my camera and capturing what captures me. I have done lots of different types of photography over the years from wildlife photography to pet photography from preschool graduations to weddings and I have had some exhibitions of my work. Photographing in the natural world is definitely where my heart lies.

Past Exhibitions- Bru na Boinne Visitor Centre- World Heritage Site at Newgrange Co Meath (May 2016), Cornucopia Dublin (June 2016), Baldoyle Library Dublin (July 2016)

Sweet Wild Soul

“I wish to speak a word for nature, for absolute freedom and wildness”

Henry David Thoreau

~

It is said, that the soul is ‘the essence of a living being’ of a human, of an animal

Sweet Wild Soul was born out of the simple recognition that this is what we all are, sweet wild souls, free or longing to be free

Imagine a movement for nature on our planet… for the environment, for the animals, for the people, for our health, for our future- no need to imagine it- you can actually be part of it. We can start to make a difference- we can start to grow our own food & support organic regenerative plant based growing too- we can start to rewild the rest of our land & give it back to nature to fix everything. We can start by getting outside.

With Love, Liz
